With the intention of making a quaffer for family and friends we decided in 2014 to take a small parcel of Pinot Noir grapes and make our first wine. Fortunately, having a competent winemaker who could decipher the instruction "make it like a Shiraz", meant that the end result was worthy of bottling.

We are excited about the release of the new 2015 vintage which Sam Kim from Wine Orbit has awarded 90 points, or 4.5 stars. It has been well received and is drinking extremely well, and will continue to improve with age.

Like the 100 year old solitary gum tree that bears its name, our Lone Gum Vineyard is a product of the environment that is unique to the Southern Valleys of Marlborough. Our goal is to make a wine that is a true reflection of this environment.
